GutliMission is a nationwide environmental movement that transforms discarded mango seeds into thriving mango trees while creating sustainable livelihoods for farmers. By connecting school children, Armed Forces personnel, citizens, and farming communities, the mission inspires collective action towards environmental conservation and rural empowerment—one mango seed at a time.
Our Story
Every summer, millions of mango seeds are thrown away as waste across India. While most people see a discarded seed, Gutliman sees the beginning of a new life. GutliMission was born from a simple yet powerful belief: every mango seed has the potential to become a fruit-bearing tree that can improve the environment, support farming families, and create a lasting legacy for future generations.
Through this mission, discarded mango seeds are collected from schools, homes, institutions, and communities, carefully germinated into healthy saplings, and distributed free of cost to farmers. These saplings eventually grow into productive mango trees, providing farmers with an additional source of income while contributing to India’s green cover. What began as one person’s vision has now become a growing movement that inspires people of all ages to become active participants in environmental conservation.
Meet Gutliman of India
“Gutli Man of India” (Jasmit Singh Arora) is an environmentalist and entrepreneur on a mission to plant 20 crore trees to fight climate change and empower farmers. He collects discarded mango seeds (gutlis), transforms them into healthy saplings, and donates them freely to struggling farmers.
Through his initiative, the Carbon Protection Force, he encourages citizens across India to consume their mangoes, clean and dry the seeds, and mail them to his Kolkata center to be grafted and planted. This revolution helps convert low-yield crop areas into profitable fruit-bearing orchards that require less water, lock carbon to generate carbon credits, and create dependable long-term income for thousands of farmers.Â
